Unter den Linden

There are lots of Christmas lights in Berlin now. All the trees along Unter den Linden are outlined in strips of lights which are carefully attached. We saw the workers putting them on from cherry pickers on the backs of lorries a couple of weeks ago. The lights brighten the dark nights and I think they’re beautiful.

 

 

 

There was a jazz bank playing on the opposite corner, with the musicians bundled up in warm coats, scarfs and hats. Their happy music added to the jolly atmosphere. Christmas markets are all over Berlin. We went to a delightful one at Gendamenmarkt which has fine hand made goods, food and drink. A capella choir sang carols. Very festive.
